Vazo Production · Manufactured in Kosovë, Europe · Since 2017

Engineered planters with architectural character.

Industrial strength, refined for design-led spaces. Developed and hand-made in our own European manufacture, for retail, distribution and architectural projects.

“We don't sell products. We sell a system that produces reliable results.”

Vazo began in 2017 with a problem nobody wanted to own. European buyers of large planters were stuck with overseas suppliers: quality that varied from container to container, lead times measured in seasons, freight costs that changed weekly. We are a family of entrepreneurs from Kosovë, and we decided the answer was not another import deal. It was a manufacture, built close to the market.

Today every Vazo planter is still laminated, cast, sanded and coated by hand in our own workshop. What changed is the system around those hands: clear production stages, finish standards you can reorder against two years later, and partners across Northern and Central Europe who plan their seasons with us. When they ask how we work, our favourite answer has not changed since day one: come and see for yourself, it is a short flight.

Mineral Composite Technology

A polymer matrix, mineral filler and glass-fibre reinforcement: low weight, industrial strength. The mineral content is what gives our surfaces their stone-like depth, and the fibre layers are what let a piece survive a decade outdoors. Large sizes are laminated with double reinforcement; rims, the part every hand touches first, are cast separately and bonded for stability.

Every piece is finished in three to four coats, from base coat to colour to a protective top layer, and checked twice before it leaves the yard.

Photographed where our planters live: on site, in real projects.

European manufacturing, without the distance.

Most planters in European retail travel by ship for weeks before they reach a shelf. Ours travel by truck for days. Kosovë sits inside Europe: Euro currency, preferential EU market access with EUR.1 certificates, and a factory you can actually visit between breakfast and dinner. That distance, or the lack of it, changes how a partnership works: faster corrections, smaller risks, real conversations.

One material. Many characters.

Every series starts as a mould built in our own workshop, and every surface is a recipe we developed ourselves: smooth matt bodies for modern architecture, mineral structures with real grain, sprinkled duals, and patinas applied by hand. One material, more than twenty characters. The full catalogue with sizes and finishes lives in our shop and partner portal.

Made to measure. Or made to be yours.

MAYA, our modular system for rectangular planters, is built to your dimensions: cubes, boxes, podestals, balcony pieces and full architectural installations.

Your own brand: we develop and produce customer-specific series with your colours, surfaces, article numbers and labels. Several European wholesalers run their planter lines on exactly this model: their name on the label, our system behind it.

And when an existing assortment loses its supplier, we redevelop it: form, size and finish rebuilt so closely that your customers keep reordering without noticing the change.

Sustainability · NEWBORN

A second life for damaged planters.

Fibre composite lasts decades — that is its quiet superpower, and its problem: it does not belong in a landfill after one accident in a loading bay. NEWBORN is our answer. Damaged planters return to the manufacture, are reworked and re-coated by the people who made them, and go back into the market in as-new quality.

RETURN

Damaged planters come back instead of being thrown away.

REWORK

Repaired and refinished by the same hands that made them.

REBORN

Back to as-new quality, checked like every new piece.

RETURN

Back into the market, with credit for our partners.

Company

A family business thatsolves production problems.

We are risk-takers and entrepreneurs. Since 2017 we manufacture planters in Kosovë, born from a simple observation: European buyers struggled with overseas quality, long lead times and unpredictable freight costs. We built the answer, a manufacture close to the market.

01
How it started
Referenzprojekt · Istog

Ask us why we started a planter manufacture and the honest answer is: it just happened, and we are risk-takers. In 2017 a large European plant retailer was struggling with its overseas supply: planters arrived damaged or off-colour, replacements took half a year, and freight prices moved like the weather.

Someone had to solve that problem close to the market. We decided it would be us.

So we built moulds, learned the material centimetre by centimetre, ruined more than one batch of resin, and shipped our first truck. The retailer reordered. Then another one called.

What began as a workaround for one customer's supply problem became a manufacture with its own series, its own surface system and partners in half a dozen European countries.

02
Who we are

We are a family business.

The family runs the company between Kosovë and Germany: production where the craft lives, partner management where the customers are.

We are a fair employer.

The workshop team has grown with every partnership, and most of the people who laminated our first series still work here.

We are a product developer.

Forms, surfaces and moulds are developed in-house — from the first sketch to the series that ships.

We are a problem solver.

That is how we put it in our first catalogue, and it still holds: bring us the supply problem, we build the answer.

04
How we work
“We do not promise the maximum possible capacity. We promise the capacity we can reliably control.

That sentence shows up in every serious negotiation. It costs us some easy applause and earns us partners who plan two seasons ahead. The same thinking runs through the workshop: quality is checked twice, during production and again before anything leaves the yard.

New colours can move fast; new forms are introduced deliberately, so that running orders never wait behind experiments. And because we sit a few truck days from our customers, every conversation can end the same way: come and see for yourself.

Manufacturing

Hand-made,system-built.

There is no conveyor belt in our factory. Every Vazo planter is laminated, cast, sanded, coated and checked by hand — inside a system with clear stages and standards you can reorder against years later.

Fabrik · Llazarevë
No production line. No printed surfaces. Hands.

Machines are good at making a million identical things cheaply. They are bad at making a two-metre planter that has to look like architecture and survive a decade outdoors. So our factory is organised around people: laminators who know how a fibre mat behaves around a tight radius, finishers who can read a surface with their fingertips, and a quality check that happens twice — during production and before anything leaves the yard.

The material follows the hands. A polymer matrix filled with real mineral and reinforced with glass fibre — our Mineral Composite Technology — gives the surfaces their stone-like depth at a fraction of the weight. But the recipe is only half the story. The other half is the person laying it into the mould.

Four moments that make a Vazo.

Not the full process manual — just the moments where hands decide whether a piece becomes a Vazo or scrap.

01

Laminated by hand

Glass-fibre mats are laid into the mould layer by layer, worked into every corner by hand. Large sizes get double reinforcement — you will never see it, but the piece will feel it for a decade.

Fabrik · Llazarevë
02

Cast & bonded

The rim is the part every hand grabs first, so it is cast separately and bonded to the body for stability. Then it is refined until the joint disappears.

Fabrik · Llazarevë
03

Sanded smooth

Filling and fine sanding, again and again, between every coat. This is the slowest, least glamorous work in the building — and the reason a smooth Vazo body reads like cast stone.

Fabrik · Llazarevë
04

Coated & checked

Three to four coats, from base to colour to a protective top layer — each one dried and inspected before the next. Checked twice before packing. Nothing here is fast. That is the point.

Fabrik · Llazarevë

Fabrik · Llazarevë

Material honesty.

We do not print wood grain on plastic. Our surfaces are what they claim to be: smooth matt bodies, mineral structures with real grain you can feel, sprinkled duals where a second colour is sprayed in a fine mist, and patinas created entirely by hand — rubbed in, partly lifted again, so no two pieces are identical from day one.

And then the surface is sealed. A Vazo patina is made in the workshop, not by the weather: it does not keep developing, it does not drift. The piece you approve is the piece that stays — for every reorder.

If you want to know what a surface really feels like, ask us for a sample piece. We send material, not renderings.

Development · Private Label · MAYA

From our catalogueto your product.

Every partnership sits somewhere on a ladder of four stages — from your label on our standard series to a product that exists nowhere else. Same workshop, same standards, four depths of involvement.

Stage 0 · Private Label

Your label, our catalogue.

Our standard series and sizes, carrying your brand: your article numbers, your product names, your labels and packing instructions — managed as first-class data in our production system, not stickers added at the end.

This runs directly, order by order. Your purchasing team orders in your language and your numbers; our workshop produces against the same data. Nothing is translated by hand in between, so nothing gets lost.

Stage 1 · Colour & Texture

Our forms, your palette.

Every finish we sell is our own recipe, so a proven series can wear your market's colours without a new mould: your greys, your terracottas, your two-tone sprinkles.

It goes beyond colour. Textures — surfaces we apply in the finishing line — can change the whole character of an existing form: from smooth matt to mineral grain, on the same body.

Stage 2 · Remodelling

Existing shapes, new character.

We take a proven shape — ours, or one your market already loves — and remodel it: proportions adjusted, details reworked, and a new structure built into the mould itself.

This is where most “we lost our supplier” stories land. Bring us a sample and a season, and we will tell you honestly what we can match and what we would do differently.

Referenzprojekt · Istog
Stage 3 · Development

Built from zero.

A product that does not exist yet, developed from the ground up in our own workshop. This is the full product development process — and the reason our team calls themselves product developers, not just producers.

Master modelPrototype mouldPrototype productSeries

You see and approve a physical prototype before a single series piece is laminated. From there, the new product runs through the same stages and checks as every Vazo.

Two words we use precisely

Structure is born in the mould. Texture is applied by hand.

STRUCTURE

Part of the form itself: built into the mould, so every piece of the series carries it identically. Changing a structure means mould work — that is Stage 2.

TEXTURE

Applied later in the finishing line, layer by layer, onto an existing body. Changing a texture needs no new mould — that is Stage 1.

MAYA. Rectangular, to the centimetre.

MAYA pieces are built from cast composite panels: cubes, boxes, podestals, balcony planters, dividers and columns in exactly the dimensions your project needs. No tooling cost, no minimum drama — dimensions in, planter out.

Sustainability

Built to last.Brought back to life.

Sustainability talk is cheap. Ours starts with an admission: our material is brilliant at lasting and bad at being recycled. This page is about what we do with that truth.

The honest balance of fibre composite.

Most sustainability pages hide the trade-off. We would rather show you both sides of the material we chose — because the program we built only makes sense once you see them together.

What it gives
  • A lifespan measured in decades, indoors and out — the most sustainable product is the one you never replace.
  • Low weight for its strength: lighter handling, lighter transport, fewer broken pieces on the way.
  • It is repairable. The same material can be sanded, re-laminated and re-coated — by hand, in the workshop that made it.
What it costs
  • Thermoset composite cannot simply be melted down and remoulded like a PET bottle.
  • Real recycling streams for fibre composite barely exist in Europe today.
  • So a planter built for twenty years too often dies at its first forklift accident — straight to landfill.
We cannot recycle our way out. But we can repair our way out — that is NEWBORN.
NEWBORN · Circular Program

Born once. Reborn many times.

The name is borrowed from the NEWBORN monument in Pristina, repainted every year since 2008 for a country that gave itself a second beginning. We like the idea that a material as durable as fibre composite deserves the same: not a landfill after one accident, but a second life from the hands that shaped it.

Where the program stands

In development — built with our partners, not for them.

We are currently surveying B2B partners across Europe to shape the mechanics: return logistics, the credit model, which damage qualifies. The results will be published here as the program goes live.

One thing is already true: if a Vazo planter breaks, talk to us before you throw it away.
